The Chinese Communist Party s Secret Filming of Lai Ching-te s Son: A Despicable Exploitation of Vulnerabilities.

On May 2, 2026, the President of the Republic of China, Lai Ching-te, announced on Facebook that he had arrived in Eswatini, an African ally (referred to as Swaziland in mainland China), for an official visit. (Provided by the Facebook account of President Lai Ching-te)

[People News] Recently, another shameful act by the Chinese Communist Party has come to light in the United States. On October 5, Pacific Time, Zhang Wanying, a Chinese American from California, made her first appearance in federal court in Los Angeles. She faces charges of illegally acting as an agent for the Chinese Communist Party and is suspected of being commissioned to secretly film and monitor the son of Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te. She was arrested by the FBI on October 4 while planning to fly to China.

According to the indictment, on September 1, 2025, Zhang Wanying and an accomplice arrived in Seattle, rented a car, and proceeded to surveil Lai Ching-te's son's residence. The two are accused of taking photographs of the residence, vehicles, and related personal images from inside the car, with Zhang Wanying allegedly sending the images to officials of the Chinese Communist Party. The FBI has a comprehensive record of her actions. The case is still in the indictment phase, and if convicted, Zhang Wanying could face a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

The Chinese Communist Party's use of Zhang Wanying to secretly film Lai Ching-te's son is clearly aimed at gathering specific information to use as leverage to pressure and threaten Lai Ching-te in the event of a future conflict. After all, such close relatives are likely to be one of Lai Ching-te's vulnerabilities. The CCP's despicable tactics have once again earned the world's contempt.

In reality, the Chinese Communist Party and its officials are highly skilled at exploiting the vulnerabilities of others to exert control or pressure. Numerous examples of this have emerged during the CCP's over 70 years of rule, particularly in using familial ties to coerce and pressure Chinese individuals both domestically and abroad.

Many may recall that during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2022, a recording leaked from staff in the Tiantongyuan community in Beijing, where they discussed how to handle a petitioner. One phrase stood out: 'His Achilles' heel is his son.' This deeply inhumane remark ignited widespread outrage online regarding the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) tactic of using familial bonds and children as leverage to maintain control.

The Epoch Times reported that in August 2024, Tang Yuanqiao, a long-time figure in the American pro-democracy movement, was arrested on charges of conspiring to act as an agent for the CCP. The reason behind this was that Tang Yuanjun sought the CCP's help to return to China to visit his elderly and frail parents and his disabled brother. The CCP exploited this vulnerability to coerce him into compliance, compelling him to divulge information about overseas anti-CCP activists and the pro-democracy movement.

Furthermore, the long-missing human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng disclosed that CCP officials had openly told him that psychologists had crafted a strategy to undermine his will based on his personal weaknesses, saying, 'You love your wife and children too much.' They placed his wife and children under the regime's control to pressure him into submission or to abandon his human rights advocacy.

How did the CCP execute this? They engaged in prolonged and intense surveillance, tracking, home raids, and socially isolating Gao Zhisheng's wife, Geng He, and their two children, effectively silencing him. After Geng He and the children fled to the United States in 2009, the psychological scars on the children lingered for a long time.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is highly skilled at exploiting the vulnerabilities of the dozens of rights lawyers who are also victims of its persecution and oppression, using these weaknesses to 'tame' them. Their children are denied the right to a proper education, their families often face homelessness, and their children are even restricted from leaving the country. In such a CCP, where is the humanity?

Furthermore, in July 1999, after Jiang Zemin and the CCP initiated a brutal crackdown on Falun Gong, they faced passive responses from leaders and the public at all levels across the country. The CCP took advantage of people's fears of losing their jobs, being laid off, having bonuses withheld, and the impact on their educational and military opportunities. They issued threats such as, 'If leadership is ineffective and work measures are inadequate, leading to disturbances caused by Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing, the main leaders will be held accountable and publicly criticized. In serious cases, disciplinary action will be taken,' and 'If one person practices (Falun) Gong, the whole family will be laid off,' and 'If one employee practices, the bonuses for the entire company will be withheld.' This extended the persecution policy to every corner of the nation.

The CCP is not only adept at exploiting the vulnerabilities of Chinese people both at home and abroad, but it is also skilled at gathering intelligence on the 'soft spots' of foreign political figures, businessmen, or their family members. It implements different strategies based on the target, either to gather intelligence or to conduct infiltration.

In recent years, insiders familiar with the internal intelligence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) have revealed that the CCP initiated the 'Blue-Gold-Yellow Plan' in 2017. This plan is designed to infiltrate and control foreign political figures and businessmen, particularly in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Europe, and the United States. The term 'Blue' primarily refers to the use of online power, public opinion control, and hacking techniques for intelligence gathering, surveillance, or intimidation. This includes controlling overseas media and manipulating public opinion through social media platforms (such as the 'Fifty Cent Army' and 'Water Army') to influence the political climate in specific countries.

The 'Gold' aspect refers to 'buying off' target individuals through substantial investments, contracts, large illegal bribes, or improper economic benefits. Tactics include enabling target individuals or their families to reap enormous profits from business ventures in China, converting overseas high-tech innovations into commercial advantages, and fostering a dependency of foreign political and business leaders on the CCP. A notable example is the late former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who was a guest of the CCP and acted as a 'transnational broker,' enjoying unrestricted access and operations in the Chinese mainland market.

The 'Yellow' component involves obtaining compromising information about the private lives of Western targets through seduction and methods such as covert filming. The goal is to create black files on overseas political figures and businessmen, compelling them to comply with the CCP. For instance, the American political news website Axios reported in 2020 that Fang Fang, a Chinese woman suspected of being a CCP spy, was once active in the mainstream political circles in the United States, where she seduced American officials. Fang Fang has since returned to mainland China.

Beyond the previously mentioned 'blue gold yellow' tactics, military experts have recently alerted that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has also escalated its 'green gold' initiative. This initiative involves using medical methods, such as facilitating organ transplants for targeted individuals in China, as a means of political leverage.

Currently, the CCP is reverting to its old strategies by collecting information on Lai Ching-te's son, with motives that are all too clear. This profoundly despicable and unscrupulous behavior from the CCP once again reveals to Western society the true nature of this regime.
