[People News] After the U.S. military captured Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife alive, those who felt the most excited—aside from the Venezuelan people—were Chinese netizens. Over recent days, under strict online censorship, Chinese netizens have tried every possible way to voice their inner hopes, hoping that the U.S. military will capture the Chinese Communist Party’s top leader, because they have already come to realize that the existence of the CCP is the root cause of China’s various disasters. Overseas Chinese netizens have held heated discussions on this. Analysts believe that the CCP is now sitting on a volcano.
After the U.S. military captured Venezuelan dictator Maduro on January 3, in addition to the “Little Pink” nationalists following the official line in condemning the United States for “aggression,” many netizens congratulated the Venezuelan people on being liberated, and implicitly hinted that they hoped Trump would use the same method to liberate China, which has long suffered devastation under the CCP. On TikTok video bullet comments, many “SOS” and “save me” cries for help appeared, and some even left the message “New Year’s Eve (Xi).”
One post titled “There’s a big job—are you taking it or not?” received more than 12,000 likes in the comment section. Some even left comments such as, “If this job is taken and succeeds, it will definitely surpass Washington,” but this popular comment was immediately deleted by the social media platform.
On the TikTok platform, some people commented, “Old Te (Trump), can you be a bit more generous—if you’re treating (capturing alive), then treat (arrest) a few more; only when there are enough to fill a table will there be world harmony!” Others praised the strength of the U.S. military, saying, “Catching a president is faster than catching a little chicken—impressive!”
After Maduro was captured, the famous song *‘Unfortunately, It’s Not You’* by Malaysian female singer Fish Leong suddenly went viral in China, because many people ordered this song online and left comments such as “Unfortunately, it’s not Xi,” “Unfortunately, it’s not that someone,” and “The American empire’s business capability wasn’t good this time—they caught the wrong person; suggest catching again, those who understand will understand,” implying that the United States should arrest Xi Jinping.
Mainland Chinese people interviewed by New Tang Dynasty Television could not hide their excitement. Mr. Jia, a mainland resident, said, “Our greatest hope is that this kind of authoritarianism will gradually disappear; this is the greatest kind of care for humanity. Seeing this scene makes us feel even more that everything is possible.”
Overseas netizens also praised the U.S. military, saying it “perfectly interpreted what it means to take the enemy commander’s head from among millions of troops, as if entering an unguarded land,” and “Capture alive and then send for a fair trial—out of 8 billion people worldwide, more than half cheer!” This has made “dictators in many countries restless, worried that they might be next.” They joked that Chinese people are lining up waiting for the U.S. military to arrive: “The Chinese people have been lining up for so long their legs are numb—America, hurry up!” “Isn’t ‘200 jin’ (Xi Jinping’s nickname) more meaty? When will he be caught?” “Looking forward to this scene happening in China! Capture Xi Jinping alive and put Xi Jinping on trial!” “This is the voice of most ordinary Chinese people,” “A war that doesn’t harm the people—the people welcome it!” “If the one caught were ‘200 jin,’ the applause would definitely be even louder!”
Tang Baiqiao, a Chinese democracy activist in the United States, posted on X on January 6: “Here I raise a ‘heavenly question’ to all anti-communist individuals: If the U.S. military were to go deep into Zhongnanhai to arrest the CCP dictator, helping us end CCP authoritarian rule in this way—would you support it?”
Some netizens responded: “I’m willing to lead the way!” “The ultimate question—one standard to distinguish external propaganda,” and “I’ve been waiting for this day for many years.”
Former Beijing lawyer and independent scholar Lai Jianping told The Epoch Times that when beating a dog, one looks at its owner. The U.S. military’s capture of Venezuela’s Maduro is clearly meant as a warning to the CCP. “Authoritarian rule is unpopular. Even if a country’s own people lack the ability to overthrow it, the international community—especially countries like the United States—has the ability to do so. As long as it makes up its mind and is willing to act, it can decapitate these dictators.” After the U.S. arrested Maduro, of course there have been some dissenting voices, such as differing views on so-called sovereign immunity and basic principles of international law. But the vast majority of people, from basic common sense and a universal sense of justice, support such actions. “At this moment, it’s useless for you (the CCP) to bring out so-called international law arguments. Authoritarian rule is unpopular and will sooner or later fall flat.”
Lai Jianping warned the CCP not to spend all day dreaming of becoming king and hegemon, stirring up trouble in the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea, and boasting about how strong its technological and military power is, when in fact it is arrogant like Ye Lang and weak beneath a strong exterior.
“The CCP itself is also sitting on a volcano. This Communist regime is fundamentally illegal, and the people and the whole world are extremely dissatisfied with its illegal rule and dictatorial authoritarianism,” he said.
Jiang Pinchao, editor-in-chief of *The June Fourth Poetry Anthology* and a U.S. Library of Congress collection author, stated that in fact the United States has long been settling accounts with the CCP regime to varying degrees. Recently, the U.S. Congress passed legislation requiring the government to regularly disclose the assets of high-ranking CCP officials—this is all part of settling accounts with them. One after another, the CCP’s “good friends” have run into trouble, greatly pleasing the people, and the footsteps of history are gradually accelerating. △
