[People News] Just after the New Year, a shocking piece of news emerged that reverberated around the globe. On January 3, U.S. President Trump announced that American troops had conducted a raid in Venezuela, capturing President Maduro and his wife, who were forcibly taken to New York to face trial. The current president was apprehended by U.S. forces as easily as catching a chick, and this operation has left Venezuelans worldwide overjoyed, celebrating Maduro's sudden downfall. This news not only uplifted the spirits of the mainland populace but also instilled fear in the hearts of the Communist Party leaders in Zhongnanhai. While Chinese netizens celebrated the Venezuelan people's victory, they also regretfully sang the familiar tune 'Unfortunately, it's not you.' So, who will be next?

The events unfolded like a scene from a movie. The U.S. military dubbed this mission 'Operation Absolute Resolve,' deploying over 150 aircraft. President Trump issued the order to execute this mission at 10:46 PM on January 2. In the early hours of January 3, a loud explosion rang out over Caracas, as U.S. airstrikes effectively disabled the capital's air defence system. At 1:01 AM, U.S. helicopters safely arrived at Maduro's residence. Before Maduro and his wife could reach their secure room with steel doors, they were arrested by officials from the U.S. Department of Justice. Fortunately, no American personnel were injured during the arrest.

Reports indicate that U.S. intelligence agencies have thoroughly tracked Maduro's 'lifestyle,' including his whereabouts, residence, travel patterns, dining spots, and work situation, even down to the brand of dog food his pet consumes.

Upon hearing this news, the Venezuelan people transitioned from scepticism to tears of joy, ultimately celebrating with great enthusiasm, all while expressing gratitude to the United States and Trump. This reaction stems from the fact that since Maduro assumed power in 2013, the living conditions for the Venezuelan populace have deteriorated drastically.

Venezuela holds the title for the largest proven oil reserves globally, with confirmed reserves amounting to an impressive 300 billion barrels. Thanks to its oil wealth, Venezuela was once among the richest nations in Latin America.

Today, approximately three-quarters of the Venezuelan population survives on less than $1.90 a day, which is below the internationally recognised extreme poverty line. Around 70% of the population is facing hunger, with children rummaging through trash bins daily.

The per capita GDP has plummeted from $18,000 in 2013 to just $3,659, representing a staggering 80% decline. Last year, the country experienced an inflation rate of 5,500%. In simpler terms, if you had 1 million in 2015, it would be worth less than 1 dollar by 2025.

According to statistics from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, over 7.7 million people have fled Venezuela since 2014, making Venezuelan refugees part of what is now referred to as the 'second-largest refugee crisis in the world.'

As a result, Maduro's capture has turned thousands of ordinary Venezuelans into unwitting supporters of the U.S., eagerly awaiting American intervention to rescue them. However, Maduro, who has brought the country to its knees, is a 'staunch ally' of Xi Jinping, the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, as they have previously expressed their mutual commitment to 'defending the glorious cause of the human community.'

Ironically, just three hours before his arrest, Maduro had a warm meeting with Qiu Xiaoqi, the special representative for Latin American affairs sent by Xi Jinping.

The most embarrassing moment for the Chinese Communist Party came when Maduro boasted at a press conference about using a Huawei phone, even going so far as to claim it was the best phone in the world, one that even Americans couldn't eavesdrop on.

This video of Maduro has undoubtedly become one of the funniest moments of 2026. The U.S. managed to capture Maduro, and Huawei played a crucial role in this. It was precisely because Maduro used Huawei that the U.S. was able to track him down.

Netizens humorously remarked, 'Trump always brings unexpected surprises to the world. I suspect it was a phone personally delivered by Xi xx, equipped with a national anti-fraud app that leaked personal information.'

'Xi has been unable to sleep soundly every night; this time, he not only exposed Huawei but also revealed his 'good intentions' to monitor foreign leaders.'

Following Maduro's capture, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed 'deep shock' and demanded that the U.S. 'immediately release' him. A wave of domestic and foreign internet trolls was left disheartened. The overseas troll Li Yi posted a video, crying and slapping himself in frustration.

Mainland netizens then sang the song 'Unfortunately, it's not you,' implying that he should be the next one to face consequences.

Netizens commented: "The Chinese people have been queuing for so long that their legs are numb. America, step it up!" "Isn't 200 pounds just more meat? When will he be caught?" "I can't wait to see this happen in China! Capture Xi Jinping alive and put him on trial!"

After arriving in New York, a video of Maduro disembarking from the plane surfaced on the X platform. He was dressed in a grey hoodie and slippers, appearing to walk with some difficulty, surrounded by a large contingent of American agents. Some netizens called out, "Where's his good friend (Xi Jinping)?"

On January 4th, entrepreneur Hu Liren from Shanghai posted on X, stating that the incident of Maduro's capture has sent Xi Jinping into a state of extreme fear. "Today, news has emerged from Beijing that Xi Jinping has begun to further bolster his personal defence system. There have been frequent troop movements at military bases around Beijing today, and it is estimated that many underground shelter systems in the vicinity have also begun to activate."

The capture of Maduro is undoubtedly a significant shock for leaders of other countries with strained relations with the United States. Will Xi Jinping retreat to a bunker to live in hiding because of this?

Most intriguingly, U.S. Vice President Vance made a comment on social media that can be interpreted as almost a "kill the heart" remark: Maduro seems to be the last person to realise that President Trump is a man of his word.

This statement sends an extremely dangerous yet very clear message: in the Trump 2.0 era, the red line is a genuine red line, not just a chalk mark on the ground. When the United States imposes conditions, particularly regarding core interests like drugs and energy, rejecting the 'deal' could lead to consequences that go beyond sanctions, potentially resulting in direct physical destruction or political elimination.

U.S. Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin remarked at a press conference, 'The United States can project our will at any time and place, coordinating, concealing, with lethality, precision, and the significant influence of the U.S. Department of Justice, all of which were clearly demonstrated in the dead of night.'

The fentanyl and 'rare earth stick' exported by the Chinese Communist Party have consistently posed a significant challenge for the United States. It appears that Vance's comments were not only directed at Venezuela but also intended for Xi Jinping.
