[People News] Since its release in mid-July last year, 'State Organs' has been shown more than 700 times in Taiwan and continues to attract enthusiastic audiences. Taipei City Council members Hong Jianyi, Zhang Wenjie, and Hsinchu City Council member Zeng Zicheng have all condemned the CCP's horrific practice of harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners.
Dajiyuan reporter Zhong Yuan, reporting from Taiwan, noted that Guan Jianzhong, head of the Taiwanese distribution company Hsiung Shih Film, stated that 'State Organs' reveals the CCP's heinous acts of organ harvesting. The film premiered in Taiwan in July 2024, featuring director Zhang Yongjin, producer Song Meixin, physician Zheng Zhi, who has firsthand experience with organ harvesting, and Wang Zhiyuan, chairman of the U.S.-based 'International Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong.' They participated in media interviews and television discussions, which generated significant public interest at the time.
Guan Jianzhong mentioned that 'State Organs' will continue to be screened across Taiwan on the National Day of Mourning on October 2, 2024. On that day, they received their first threatening letter, and on October 5, the Zhenzhenmei Theatre received threats involving firearms and ammunition. Since the film's release, various cinemas, university campuses, councils, and the Changhua Christian Medical Foundation's Changhua Christian Hospital Medical Centre have received over 100 threatening emails or messages from abroad, with some even threatening to plant bombs in the theatres.
Guan Jianzhong stated that the threatening letters have made many theatres in Taiwan reluctant to screen films. However, he believes that Taiwan is a place that upholds freedom of speech and film exhibition, and it must not succumb to evil. As a result, they appealed to the councils of Taipei City, Tainan City, and Kaohsiung City, as well as to legislators and supervisory commissioners, receiving recognition and support.
Furthermore, he mentioned that on November 7, 2024, the Mainland Affairs Council of the Republic of China expressed its concern regarding the threats against 'National Organs', emphasising that any form of intimidation or harassment is unacceptable in Taiwan. On November 27, the Legislative Yuan's Foreign and Defense Committee invited the National Security Bureau, the Mainland Affairs Council, the Ministry of Culture, and other relevant agencies to present a special report on 'China's long-arm jurisdiction strategy against Taiwan as observed through the screening challenges of 'National Organs' and our country's response strategies', and prepared for inquiries. Legislator Wang Dingyu remarked that this is likely the first instance in the history of the legislature where the committee agenda of the Legislative Yuan has included 'National Organs' as a formal special report from relevant agencies.
'Taiwanese people, influenced by pro-communist media, still fail to grasp the malevolent nature of the Chinese Communist Party,' Guan Jianzhong stated. They initiated the campaign 'The Truth of National Organs Protects Taiwan, Nationwide Tour Screening', as many viewers have reported that this film enables Taiwanese people to recognise the Chinese Communist Party. He shared that the search volume for 'National Organs' on social media is quite high, with many people expressing curiosity: 'Why are we being threatened for watching 'National Organs'? What exactly is the Chinese Communist Party trying to conceal?'
Guan Jianzhong stated that 'State Organs' has been screened more than 700 times throughout Taiwan, with many viewers expressing shock at the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) organ harvesting and trafficking for profit, and condemning the crimes committed by the CCP. The truths unveiled in this film have led audiences to reflect on the actual situation in China, especially in their criticism of the Communist Party. He noted that many individuals are eager to spread awareness of the truth and are actively participating in private screenings, with approximately 80% of attendees being young people. The screening schedule for 'State Organs' is already booked through the end of June.
Taiwanese Legislators Condemn the Atrocities of the CCP's Organ Harvesting from Falun Gong Practitioners
April 25 marks the 26th anniversary of the peaceful appeal by Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China. Nearly a thousand practitioners from the northern region gathered at the Citizen Square of the Taipei City Government on the 19th for a press conference. Taipei City Councillors Hong Jianyi, Zhang Wenjie, and Hsinchu City Councillor Zeng Zicheng, along with representatives from the offices of Taipei City Councillor Jian Shupei and Legislator Liu Jianguo, were present to deliver speeches.
Taipei City Councillor Hong Jianyi remarked that he had recently faced threats after organising a screening of the documentary "State Organs" at the Taipei City Council. He believes that those who issued the threats are feeling guilty, as they fear that more people will uncover the truth about organ harvesting. This documentary provides concrete evidence and footage, confirming that organ harvesting is not a baseless claim, and even former Chinese military doctors have come forward to corroborate these allegations.
Hong Jianyi recently participated in the launch event for the "Truth about State Organs: Protect Taiwan, Nationwide Screening" in Ximen District, where he delivered a speech. During the event, some young attendees expressed disbelief regarding organ harvesting, noting their ignorance about the daily disappearances of many individuals across the strait. He stressed that our bodies, hair, and skin are gifts from our parents, and that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) cannot arbitrarily take our organs. "We must reveal the lesser-known aspects of the CCP to the world, so that all fathers, mothers, and elders who care about their families can better understand the CCP's sinister and cruel nature."
In an interview with The Epoch Times, Hong Jianyi remarked that the Chinese economy has been in decline, which he believes reflects the retribution for the past sins of the Communist Party. "We cannot allow the CCP to act with impunity. Everyone must continue to work hard to inform more people globally about the truth of organ harvesting, as this will increase pressure on the CCP and deter them from such practices." He added, "We all believe in cause and effect; our actions are observed by heaven. Ultimately, the CCP will face the consequences of its actions, and karma will return to those who commit evil. Evil will be met with evil."
Taipei City Councillor Zhang Wenjie shared that during her time at National Taiwan University, she practised Falun Gong with her supervising professor, and that this practice significantly enhances health. She pointed out that the various threats encountered by the documentary "State Organs" during its screening in Taiwan illustrate the CCP's fear of the truth being exposed. Therefore, she urged that the truth should be made known to more people, encouraging more individuals to stand up courageously. "We need to make it clear to authoritarian regimes that Taiwan, the bastion of democracy, cannot be silenced by the CCP's oppressive tactics to conceal any information."
Hsinchu City Councillor Zeng Zicheng has stated that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) not only persecutes Falun Gong practitioners within China but also extends its reach overseas, engaging in transnational harassment and threats against Falun Gong practitioners and human rights advocates around the world. He urged the United Nations and various governments to launch an independent investigation into the CCP's organ harvesting practices. He emphasised, 'The brutal nature of the CCP regime must be dismantled for China to have a future and for Taiwan to be protected. For the sake of conscience and hope, we believe that history will remember the truth and restore justice. Together, we will strive to end the persecution as soon as possible.'
The documentary 'State Organs' has taken seven years to produce, showcasing the atrocities of the CCP's organ harvesting through real evidence and a poignant narrative. The film centres on the experiences of two families searching for their missing loved ones, recounting true stories that have taken place in China. It has garnered numerous accolades, including Best Director and Best Music at the 2023 Canadian Lion Awards, the 2024 American Gold Medal Film Competition Award, the 2024 Art Film Spirit Award, the Best Human Rights Documentary Award at the Manhattan Film Festival, and the Best Documentary Award at the New York True Venture Film Festival, and is in contention for the Best Feature Documentary Award at the 2025 Oscars.
