Xi Jinping’s New Year Address Reveals a Major Secret

[People News] Xi Jinping undertakes inspection tours across China every year. This is considered one of his ways of engaging with China's realities and understanding the country's actual conditions.

But whether Xi Jinping can truly grasp the real situation during his inspections is critical. It directly impacts the accuracy of his decisions, especially major ones, and whether they align with China’s realities. In turn, this alignment—or lack thereof—affects the lives of ordinary people and the nation’s future.

In this regard, Xi Jinping's 2025 New Year address inadvertently revealed a significant secret.

What secret?

The secret lies in what Xi Jinping actually sees and learns during his inspections.

In his New Year address, Xi said: "This year, during my inspections across the country, I saw vibrant and diverse lives. Tianshui’s Huaniu apples are big and red, Dongshan’s Aojiao Village had bountiful fish harvests. The ‘Oriental Smile’ of the Maijishan Grottoes has spanned millennia, while the spirit of mutual respect in the Six-Foot Alley has been passed down through generations. Tianjin’s Ancient Culture Street was bustling with crowds, and residents in Yinchuan’s multi-ethnic communities lived like one family."

This means that in Xi Jinping’s view, every place he visited during his inspections appeared prosperous, showcasing scenes of vibrancy and growth.

But does this reflect the reality of China in 2024?

Clearly not. On the contrary, the China Xi Jinping witnessed can be described as entirely fabricated.

One of the unspoken rules of the Chinese political system is that when senior leaders conduct inspections, subordinates never show them the grassroots' true conditions. Instead, they meticulously present a facade of success and carefully staged accomplishments. Why? For two reasons: To win the favor of their superiors. Because they know well that leaders prefer to hear good news rather than bad news.

Could Xi Jinping be an exception? Certainly not.

In other words, under the current CCP system, Xi Jinping is destined to see falsehoods rather than truths during his inspections.

The problem, then, is this: If Xi Jinping cannot grasp the real situation during his inspections and only sees fabricated prosperity, how can the decisions he makes be aligned with reality? How can they be correct?

No wonder some overseas media mock Xi Jinping’s New Year address as living in a "parallel universe."
