CCP Eyes U.S. Election, Fails to Interfere and Brings Humiliation on Itself

People News– As the U.S. presidential election countdown heats up, the CCP’s interference attempts have reached a desperate last-ditch effort. Recently, the FBI and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) detected that a group of hackers had breached parts of the U.S. telecommunications infrastructure through electronic methods. These hackers, clearly displaying the "hammer, sickle, and five-star cap" insignia of the CCP, may have been attempting to steal data related to the campaigns of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

Unceasing Interference

For months, U.S. intelligence agencies have raised red flags, signaling that foreign adversaries—often accused of interfering in the internal affairs of other nations—are combining cyberattacks with influence operations to disrupt the November 5 election, with the aim of “inciting divisive discourse, dividing Americans, and undermining confidence in American democracy.”

Led by the FBI and CISA, U.S. agencies have identified CCP-linked hackers who have infiltrated U.S. computer systems and networks, some lying dormant for years… “prepared to launch disruptive cyberattacks that could endanger American lives… What we have discovered may only be the tip of the iceberg.”

Private cybersecurity firms also reported a sharp increase in such activity this week.

After foreign media discovered these activities, they loudly proclaimed that “thieves” had invaded telecom networks, selectively attempting to access data from presidential candidates, their teams, and certain legislators’ cell phones and other electronic devices.

Intelligence officials and private companies confirm that these “thieves” are not only the CCP but also its allies, Russia and Iran. However, Russia favors Trump, Iran supports Harris, while the CCP, which has long claimed not to interfere in others’ internal affairs, sees both candidates as equally undesirable.

Trump’s campaign team has acknowledged the hack.

The Party That Claims “Non-Interference” Spreads Fake News Abroad to Divide the U.S.

This brings to mind the frequent CCP statements promising non-interference in U.S. elections, with China’s foreign ministry spokesperson vehemently proclaiming, “We have no interest!” Some netizens remarked, “They’ve always been better at making lies sound more convincing than the truth!”

Recent reports reveal that, in early October, two hurricanes caused severe damage in the southeastern United States. Under the guise of disaster news, the CCP attempted to amplify conspiracy theories about relief efforts, spreading fake news on social media to erode trust in the government and deepen division, all in an effort to disrupt the U.S. election.

A seeder account called “Monstar” accused the U.S. government of spending money on wars in Israel and Ukraine while neglecting to support Hurricane Helen victims. This “justice” message was then shared by 21 other bot accounts. Similar messages criticizing the U.S. were fabricated and spread in various forms—comics, animations, videos—exaggerating social issues and attacking politicians, including both presidential candidates. This tactic mirrors CCP-paid trolls’ false rumors about Hawaii’s wildfires in 2023, where they claimed the disaster was caused by a U.S. military weather experiment.

Other social media analytics firms have also observed similar signs. Graphika spokesperson Meghan Hermann told fact-checking website PolitiFact that analysts detected false information about Hurricane Helen being spread by China (the CCP). Industry sources indicate that this disinformation has been enhanced by Russia, using modern AI technology. NewsGuard, a news and information rating organization, reported that Russia is using AI to create virtual images that exaggerate the hurricane’s impact in the U.S., eroding public trust in the American government.

U.S. officials have been outspoken, stating, “CCP leaders are well aware of the U.S. political system and recognize that this year’s election is close, which makes it advantageous for them to exploit and spread false information.”

On October 23, Microsoft released a report indicating that the CCP has intensified its interference in the U.S. election by attempting to sway voters through social media bots, spreading anti-Semitic rhetoric, amplifying corruption accusations, and discrediting politicians. The operation, reportedly managed by an entity called “Taizi Flood” linked to China’s Ministry of Public Security, targeted some U.S. representatives who had publicly criticized the CCP. Meanwhile, Iranian hackers are being urged to prepare for potential “direct actions” to create discord as the election approaches.

“Experts at Playing a Big Game,” Yet Exposed and Humiliated

Reports indicate that counterfeit versions of Voice of America, dubbed “Voice of America,” have emerged in China, mimicking the messaging of party-controlled media and amassing large followings, creating the impression that both foreigners and Chinese believe that “Beijing is the best, while America is plagued by hatred and gun violence.”

These CCP-linked accounts spread and amplify accusations of corruption in the U.S. government, an approach the CCP, often referred to as experts at “playing a big game,” once considered brilliant. But they didn’t anticipate being exposed and humiliated at this critical moment.

Perhaps most telling is that recent polls show American public opinion of the CCP is at a historic low, with those who believe the U.S. should maintain friendly cooperation with China dropping from around 60% to below 40%.

This has left some CCP representatives, such as the spokesperson of the Chinese embassy in Washington, clamoring: “We have no intention, nor will we interfere in the U.S. election. These are baseless and malicious speculations.”

Whether this is “baseless speculation” or not, U.S. election interference by the CCP in the previous election cycle is well-documented by media and industry reports. Microsoft’s recent report warned that history shows foreign actors’ ability to rapidly spread deceptive content can significantly impact public perception and election results. Voters, government agencies, candidates, and political parties should be vigilant about suspicious online activity during the critical 48-hour window before and after election day.

Interference Targeting All Levels Across the U.S.

On October 7, U.S. intelligence officials warned that in addition to the presidential race, foreign governments have also set their sights on congressional races across the country, aiming to interfere with U.S. democracy in this election year. An official from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence indicated that interference efforts have focused on campaigns deemed critical to national security interests, including state government positions and state legislature races. The CCP has targeted candidates based on their stance on Beijing’s interests, such as Taiwan, using tactics like intimidation or providing voters with false information about election procedures to suppress votes.

As early as 2022, the CCP employed various means to interfere in the U.S. midterm elections. According to declassified intelligence reports and multiple private sector investigations, the CCP orchestrated a range of techniques, including retaliating against U.S. representatives, promoting divisive content, and posing as American voters online.

The report revealed that since 2020, CCP leadership has directed such operations with broad orders to disrupt opinions or congressional policies that might oppose CCP strategic goals. In December 2023, a declassified report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence found that CCP election influence activities had become more active than in previous cycles, partly because they no longer feared U.S. retaliation.

Why does the CCP want to see a chaotic U.S. and consider “world police” its greatest enemy? With atheism as its foundation, the CCP cannot comprehend the core strength of a U.S. founded on Christian principles. The vast and inclusive values of American democracy, freedom, and universal human rights naturally conflict with the CCP, a party that seeks to destroy the capitalist world’s prosperity and civility. Besides being unable to understand these values, the CCP is consumed with envy and left reeling with anger and confusion. Now, unable to interfere in the election and exposed for its interference, it has only humiliated itself on the world stage, no matter which party’s candidate wins. In the end, it’s like lifting a stone only to drop it on its own foot, leaving itself half-dead. A broken chessboard, broken pieces, and broken rules cannot make a successful “big game.”
