[People News] The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) bureaucracy is thoroughly corrupt from top to bottom, leading to widespread issues in food and drug safety across Chinese society. These problems have become a root cause of harm to public health. However, what infuriates Chinese citizens even more is the CCP's blatant disregard for these issues, as it actively covers up and denies their existence. CCTV recently lied outright, claiming a food safety compliance rate of 99.2% in its evaluative sampling and a drug compliance rate of over 99%, sparking ridicule across the internet. The CCP, embarrassed and enraged, ordered state media to restrict public commentary.
On December 23, CCTV News reported from the National Market Regulation Work Conference that the so-called "Three Products and One Special," namely food, drugs, key industrial products, and special equipment, have a "generally stable safety situation." It claimed that the evaluative sampling compliance rate for food safety was 99.2%, with improvements in the compliance rates of meat, aquatic products, and vegetables. The compliance rate for drugs remained above 99%.
A Guangxi state media report on December 24 went even further, claiming that "Guangxi's 2024 drug evaluative sampling compliance rate reached 100%."
Chinese citizens are no strangers to the CCP’s shamelessness. Netizens widely shared a video of a state media report, sarcastically commenting, “China has the safest food in the world,” and “The compliance rate is nearly 100%.”
Other comments included: “They gave themselves a score of 99, just to avoid seeming too proud.”
“This is a game of self-deception.”
“Did they only sample imported goods?”
“If it wasn’t sampled, it doesn’t count.”
“They must all have glaucoma.”
“It must actually be 100%, but they were being modest.”
“This kind of parallel universe thinking is incomprehensible.”
Amid the wave of ridicule, the CCP, humiliated and angry, ordered state media to limit public comments.
A report by dajiyuan pointed out that incidents involving toxic vaccines, contaminated milk powder, and gutter oil have been an open secret in China for years. One of the most shocking cases was the 2008 Chinese toxic milk powder scandal. Many infants consuming milk powder from the Sanlu Group were found to have kidney stones, with chemical additives melamine and cyanuric acid detected in the products.
In July this year, China’s bulk oil transportation industry faced allegations of using oil tankers previously used for coal-derived oil, without cleaning them, to transport edible oil. The scandal implicated central state-owned enterprises like COFCO and was widely condemned as tantamount to poisoning. However, reports of similar misconduct date back to 2013.
In October, Kunming’s school cafeteria “rotten meat” incident became a viral topic on Chinese social media. In addition, incidents of mass student food poisoning have been frequent, and the re-emergence of gutter oil issues continues to fuel public outrage.
