On July 15, in Flushing, New York, Jie Lijian was followed by three Asian men to a nearby botanical garden, where they struck him on the head with a blunt object, causing him to lose consciousness for two days. Upon regaining consciousness, he spoke to the media, asserting, "In the face of the CCP's transnational suppression, we will not be afraid."
As reported by NTD TV, Jie Lijian recounted, "After I passed out, I crawled onto the bus, and after that, I don't remember anything. I can't even recall whether it was the 15th or the 16th. I have been in the hospital since then; the doctor informed me that the ambulance rescued me from the bus, and I was bleeding from my head."
After being in a coma for over two days, Jie Lijian woke up to find himself in the hospital's intensive care unit. The doctor advised him that he had not yet passed the critical period and required continued monitoring.
Despite enduring severe pain, Jie Lijian stated that he will not be intimidated and will not yield to the death threats and various harms posed by the CCP's transnational suppression.
Jie Lijian is a prominent overseas Chinese democracy activist who has long been at the forefront of the fight against the CCP, supporting domestic dissidents, and has faced multiple violent attacks orchestrated by the CCP.
This year, on the eve of the 37th anniversary of the 'June Fourth' incident, Jie Lijian was involved in a serious car accident shortly after the visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to the United States. The other vehicle struck him twice before fleeing the scene, leaving Jie Lijian's car nearly totaled and causing head injuries.
The China Democracy Party International Alliance recently released a strong statement urging U.S. law enforcement and the international community to take the Chinese Communist Party's transnational repression seriously and to protect the personal safety and basic rights of those abroad who are pursuing democracy, freedom, and human rights.
Ba Jiong, a well-known anti-communist internet personality who previously interviewed Jie Lijian, posted on social media on the 22nd, saying, 'A friend of mine in California was subjected to transnational repression by the CCP, beaten until his head was bloodied, and there was an unsuccessful attempt to break his legs.
