Legal Principles Open Civilization, Morality Illuminates the World (Part 1)

On June 28, 2025, Falun Gong practitioners held a rally and parade in Auckland, New Zealand, exposing the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 26-year-long persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and calling on the international community to join efforts to stop the CCP&9;s crimes against humanity. [People news] [Editor’s note] July 20 marks a significant and reflective day in contemporary history, as it was 27 years ago that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) initiated a brutal persecution against the belief in 'Truth, Compassion, Forbearance' on Chinese soil. This catastrophe, which has persisted for over a quarter of a century, represents not only a history of suffering for the Falun Gong community but also serves as a testament to the moral and ethical struggles of contemporary Chinese society.

This article meticulously outlines the tragic yet resilient journey of Falun Gong practitioners over the past twenty-seven years as they have resisted persecution and sought to share the truth. It examines the reasons behind the CCP's relentless persecution of a community that embodies kindness and peace and explores the ultimate confrontation between this regime and the essence of humanity. As the CCP faces internal power disintegration and external civilizational challenges, this article aims to reflect on history to awaken our collective conscience. At this pivotal moment in history, every choice we make will impact the future. Only by recognizing the currents of history and returning to the inherent goodness within human nature can we hope to see the dawn of a new era amidst significant changes.

On July 20, 27 years ago, a remarkable event took place in the history of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and humanity: Jiang Zemin, the then dictator of the CCP, viewed over a hundred million Falun Gong practitioners—who adhere to the principles of 'Truth, Compassion, Forbearance'—as enemies and initiated an unprecedented and frenzied crackdown using the full force of the state. This marked the beginning of a global effort by Falun Gong practitioners to speak out against the persecution and share the truth, educating people about 'What is Falun Gong,' 'Why does the CCP persecute Falun Gong,' and the truth behind the 'Three Withdrawals.' This movement has encouraged hundreds of millions of individuals (with over 460 million people in China having withdrawn from the CCP) to make a choice for justice and goodness, embracing a hopeful future.

As 27 years have passed, the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong persists. Throughout this more than a quarter-century of oppression, the CCP has mobilized national resources to compel Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their beliefs in 'Truth, Compassion, Forbearance.' They have employed all the evil tactics accumulated throughout history, resorting to every possible rogue method, including tarnishing reputations, cutting off economic support, and physically eliminating practitioners. This includes tactics such as slander, kidnapping, home raids, economic sanctions, coercion, collective punishment of friends and family, illegal detention, organ harvesting, and biochemical experiments, among others.

Particularly shocking to the world are the inhumane and anti-humanity torture methods employed, which include: beatings, electric shocks, shackling, tiger chairs, water prisons, sleep deprivation, sexual assault, animal bites, confinement in psychiatric hospitals, and injections of drugs that damage the central nervous system. These tortures are primarily conducted in concealed detention facilities, where frontline enforcers often escalate the brutality to curry favor and demonstrate loyalty, operating under the belief that 'if someone dies from the beating, it’s just a death by suicide.'

After 27 years, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has exerted extensive efforts to infiltrate, co-opt, exploit, and engage in technology theft against the international community. This encompasses various domains, including the economy, politics, culture, technology, the internet, media, administration, diplomacy, military, finance, and organized crime. The CCP has exported persecution through cyberattacks and violent intimidation, while also waging legal and public opinion warfare. Nevertheless, all of these nefarious tactics have ultimately failed. Falun Gong has not only survived but has also spread to over 150 countries and regions around the globe.

Why does the CCP harbor such intense hatred for Falun Gong? Why does it feel compelled to persecute practitioners who refrain from political involvement and focus solely on self-improvement? Why is there a concerted effort to prevent people from practicing Falun Gong? These are questions that many individuals worldwide are grappling with and find challenging to comprehend.

What motivates the Chinese Communist Party to persecute Falun Gong?

The rationale behind the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong lies in its belief that faith and ideological opposition could threaten its authority. The CCP, which is rooted in atheism, imposes a survival code based on hatred and struggle upon the Chinese populace, allowing only those religions that have been manipulated and controlled by the Party. This leads to extremes—ranging from severe asceticism to rampant indulgence, from abject poverty to extreme wealth, and from the destruction of tradition to a culture of deceit. In this chaotic environment, the CCP systematically dehumanizes individuals, resulting in widespread devastation during both natural and man-made disasters. In stark contrast, Falun Gong practitioners believe in the divine, strive for self-cultivation, enhance their moral character, and maintain a detached perspective on fame, fortune, and emotional desires, aspiring to embody selflessness, compassion, and the principles of 'Truth, Compassion, Forbearance.'

This situation has led the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to realize that its century-long plan to destroy humanity was abruptly altered just as it was on the verge of being fulfilled, particularly in terms of values, ethical standards, and cultural transformation. Consequently, Jiang Zemin exclaimed in 1999: 'Falun Gong is competing with our party for the mass base!'

At that time, there were over a hundred million people practicing Falun Gong in China. Jiang Zemin, undoubtedly envious, believed that the kind-hearted practitioners were easy targets for bullying and that the suppression would not lead to social or political unrest. Some high-ranking officials within the CCP, skilled in political maneuvering, sought to gain power and wealth through political movements, and were thus eager to participate in the persecution, demonstrating loyalty and eagerness to perform.

The dictatorial CCP regime has a wealth of historical experience in movements. Many conscientious high-ranking officials, coerced for self-preservation, began to fall silent, with some even becoming complicit in the oppression. However, did the successive high-ranking officials of the CCP truly not understand that Falun Gong has no political motives? Did they genuinely not realize that the practice of Falun Gong by ordinary citizens brings countless benefits and no harm to the country, the regime, and the rulers? Of course, they are aware, including those lower-level enforcers who persecute Falun Gong; they know that Falun Gong is unjustly treated and understand the truth about it. The immense material wealth generated by many practitioners doing good has brought significant benefits to social stability and the rulers, a fact that many officials are fully aware of.

So, why has the persecution persisted? Why do those in power and vested interests choose to repay kindness with hostility towards Falun Gong? Some claim that the current party leader is being manipulated by the Jiang faction, which aims to shift all blame onto him, while the so-called blood debt gang wants all Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials to bear the consequences of their wrongdoings. Are the current party leader and the senior CCP officials unaware of this? The current party leader has been misled by false information from those surrounding him, yet he should have the ability to access overseas information without needing to bypass the Great Firewall, indicating that Zhongnanhai is indeed aware of the situation.

Why has the persecution continued?

According to insider information from the new online media outlet, Baodian Weekly, by the end of 2025, the CCP will permit individuals involved in the official

As a result, they are well aware of various situations and information both at home and abroad. Otherwise, how could overseas media advise the Chinese people to withdraw from the Communist Party, prompting the CCP to immediately initiate the 'Preserve the First' movement? How could overseas media claim that Xi Jinping is being replaced by Li Keqiang, only for Li Keqiang to die mysteriously? How could they assert that the Rocket Force is in charge, leading to the immediate eradication of its senior leadership? How could they say that Zhang Youxia is planning a coup, resulting in Zhang Youxia being 'seriously trampled and undermining the responsibility system of the Chairman of the Military Commission'? How could they report that the U.S. State Department intends to assist the Chinese people in breaking through internet censorship, prompting the CCP to tighten domestic controls on circumventing the Great Firewall? How could they suggest that the U.S. plans to reveal the hidden wealth of Xi and other Politburo members, leading the CCP to send the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to negotiate?

Now, let’s explore why the CCP dares to challenge righteous individuals worldwide and continues to persecute Falun Gong.

The reason is that, domestically, the CCP has spent decades meticulously dismantling culture, nature, and morality, and undermining standards. Its goal of destroying China is nearing completion. Internationally, the CCP has been concealing its strength and biding its time, infiltrating, buying off, and leveraging foreign political figures, international organizations, and foreign media. The CCP's ambition for global dominance is almost within reach.

During this time, Falun Gong practitioners have been revealing the truth, peeling back the devilish facade of the CCP, and encouraging the world to reject evil and embrace good. The century-long schemes of the CCP are on the verge of collapse; doesn’t the CCP resent this? Regardless of how beneficial Falun Gong may be, it must be persecuted. This persecution, however, has ensnared many who were not particularly bad, including individuals within the system, vested interests, and ordinary citizens unaware of the truth, ultimately destroying their futures.

The dire consequences of persecution will lead to the destruction of people.

Individuals born around the 1960s in China recall a time when moral values were highly regarded, with a strong emphasis on cherishing others and the environment. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) initiated its so-called reform and opening-up policies to secure its grip on power, and by the end of the last century, within just 20 years, the Chinese populace had become indulgent and self-centered. From the end of the last century to the present, the Chinese have increasingly turned against one another, engaging in various wrongdoings, including harming relatives, betraying friends, and even committing murder. On the international stage, many countries and organizations that once held disdain for the CCP have now become tainted. Over the span of 40 years, the CCP has transformed people into beings devoid of humanity. Despite ongoing warnings from epidemics such as SARS, avian influenza, and COVID-19, as well as natural disasters like earthquakes and floods, including illnesses, sudden deaths, and imprisonments of some corrupt officials, people seem entranced and fail to learn from these experiences.

A commentary on Minghui.org titled 'Those Who Seek Quick Gains Should Not Underestimate Cause and Effect' aptly points out that when an environment is rife with uncertainty and distrust, it intensifies people's short-sightedness and desire for immediate rewards. In a setting where political power supersedes all else, those in authority arbitrarily strip others of their property, freedom, and even lives, casting society into a cloud of uncertainty. Particularly in an atheistic context, faith in the divine has diminished, putting human nature to a severe test. Many law enforcement officials, in their quest for 'quick money' and 'immediate gains,' unwittingly cross the moral line, mistakenly believing that their temporary advantages will last into the future, deluding themselves into thinking that the consequences of their wrongdoings will not catch up with them.

The law of cause and effect that governs the universe remains unaffected by human selfishness. It is widely recognized that the Nazi genocide spanned a mere twelve years, from Hitler's ascension to power until the conclusion of World War II. Following the war, hundreds of key perpetrators faced execution, while thousands of accomplices who 'followed orders' received severe sentences. At the time, they believed that obedience would safeguard their current positions; however, once the regime fell, actions that were once justified by obedience transformed into crimes in today's courts.

As the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) reveled in its malevolent triumph, a group of individuals emerged, advocating for truth, compassion, and tolerance, determined to reveal the CCP's true nature and halt the moral decline of society. How could the CCP not resent this, and how could it accept this willingly?

In recent years, the CCP's persecution abroad has become increasingly apparent and targeted. Beyond the overt hiring of thugs, threats, and cyberattacks, there have been specific bomb threats against Shen Yun and its performance venues, sabotage of tires on Shen Yun vehicles, bribery of social media influencers to launch attacks, and attempts to coerce former Shen Yun performers into making false legal accusations, among other strategies.
