In order to add points for his own promotion and enrichment, he put together a “gift wall” to exaggerate his “care” for the firefighting unit, and the officials also took group photos together with the firefighters.

Perhaps having experienced such things many times, how could the firefighters not understand the tricks of the Chinese Communist Party officialdom? After the officials left, the firefighters cheerfully used their mobile phones to record the process of opening the gift boxes.

In the video, several firefighters speaking with Beijing accents randomly opened three attractive “gift boxes” and discovered that they were all empty cardboard boxes. According to information released by the official public account “Shunyi Emergency,” this “gift wall” was used for staged photos when the deputy director of the Beijing Shunyi District Emergency Management Bureau “offered condolences” to the district’s Forest Firefighting Third Squadron. At the time, all firefighters put on their uniforms and lined up to cooperate with the filming.

There are online claims that this video was filmed just this year. However, some netizens suspect that since there are still two months before the New Year, this may be a video from a previous year.

No matter in which year or month this incident occurred, in any case this scandal is absolutely true. Netizens have mocked the Chinese Communist Party officials’ falsification as having “reached the pinnacle,” saying they have “absolutely no shame left.” Some people said, “It seems the government really has no money, so it can only stage photos.” Others joked, “Aren’t there still two bottles of mineral water?” Another netizen replied, “That was to keep the boxes from being blown away by the wind—used to weigh them down.” △
