[People News] Two days after former journalist Zhao Lanjian broke the news that Chinese military Vice Chairman He Weidong had been taken away for investigation, he has now revealed even more shocking details on X (formerly Twitter), posting in both Chinese and English about the latest internal turmoil within the PLA. According to Zhao, a second source has confirmed He Weidong’s arrest. Furthermore, former Minister of the General Logistics Department Zhao Keshi and multiple generals from Fujian have also been detained. The military is experiencing a massive political earthquake, with a purge of unprecedented scale shaking the top ranks. Independent political commentator Cai Shenkun also dedicated an episode of his media channel today to discuss the situation. He stated that his own sources have also confirmed He Weidong’s arrest, reinforcing the credibility of the initial reports.

Former Director of the General Logistics Department, Zhao Keshih, along with a group of generals, has been arrested and charged.

Zhao Lanjian highlighted on today's X platform with the phrase 【Exclusive Bombshell②】, stating, "Recent intelligence reveals that a large-scale purge is currently taking place within the military: Secretary He Weidong is under investigation, the deputy commander of the Western Theater, along with several military leaders from Fujian, have been detained, and factional conflicts are escalating! The commander of the Eastern Theater Navy, the deputy director of the Military Commission's Science and Technology Committee, and the director of the Military Office have all been dismissed, leading to a rapid reshuffling of the military's senior leadership! An even greater storm is on the horizon!" He noted that former Director of the General Logistics Department, Zhao Keshih, has been officially taken away, signaling a significant disruption in the military's resource allocation system! However, this is merely the beginning of the military's purge, and the true "big figures" are still to come.

Public records indicate that Zhao Keshih holds the rank of General and is a member of the 17th and 18th Central Committees of the Communist Party of China, as well as a member of the Central Military Commission. He joined the army in 1968 and has held positions such as Chief of Staff and Commander of the 31st Group Army. In June 2004, he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Nanjing Military Region, and in mid-2007, he became the Commander of the Nanjing Military Region. In October 2012, he was appointed Minister of the General Logistics Department of the People's Liberation Army, becoming a member of the Central Military Commission. In November 2015, he was appointed as the first Minister of the newly established Logistics Support Department of the Central Military Commission.

His resume reveals that he, along with He Weidong and Miao Hua—who has been officially announced to have fallen from grace—are all from Xi's direct faction, the 31st Army. Additionally, he is mentioned alongside Zhang Yang, the former director of the General Political Department after Xi's ascent following the 18th National Congress, and Fang Fenghui, the former chief of staff of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, collectively referred to as one of the 'three headquarters.'

Recent evidence regarding He Weidong's arrest.

However, Zhao Lanjian did not clarify how he obtained this information, nor did he provide reasons for He Weidong's arrest. He also did not explain whether Zhao Keshih, He Weidong's secretary, the deputy commander of the Western Theater Command, the army commander from Fujian, the commander of the Eastern Theater Navy, the deputy director of the Military Commission's Science and Technology Committee, and the director of the military office are being investigated or charged in connection with He Weidong. He simply mentioned that He Weidong's secretary was 'involved in the leakage of confidential information.'

Logically speaking, after Xi's Communist Party dismantled the senior leadership of the Rocket Force and the Equipment Department, it seems unlikely that they would harm their own faction. Cai Shenkun noted on social media that another corroborating example of He Weidong's situation is the symposium held on March 14 to mark the 20th anniversary of the 'Anti-Secession Law.' The 'Anti-Secession' issue is primarily the responsibility of the military's political department, and the individual who should have attended and spoken is He Weidong, who is responsible for Taiwan affairs and comes from the 31st Army. Instead, Zhao Leji, who was officially announced to have contracted a respiratory infectious disease at the closing of the Two Sessions, attended and spoke, which is quite unusual.

Political analysts suggest that He Weidong is unlikely to have no ties to his former colleagues Fang Fenghui and Zhang Yang. Even if he has distanced himself from them, the likelihood of He Weidong facing investigation or historical reckoning following the incidents involving Miao Hua and some individuals recommended by Miao Hua, who are associated with He Weidong, cannot be dismissed.

If He Weidong is indeed unharmed, he would typically make a public appearance to counter rumors propagated by 'reactionary forces' abroad, as is customary for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). If he lacks the opportunity to do so, he would likely find ways to arrange a meeting to make a public appearance. His failure to show up now, despite having the chance, suggests an increased possibility that He Weidong is 'unable to come out.' 'Of course, it is also possible that in the coming days, the CCP may allow him to appear to maintain a facade of unity, but this does not necessarily indicate that He Weidong is truly fine,' remarked Cai Shenkun. 'Currently, He Weidong's downfall is merely awaiting an official announcement. The timing of this announcement may depend on the urgency of the situation, similar to how news about Miao Hua spread. For someone of his stature, it won't just be the Ministry of Defense making the announcement; party media and military sources will also be involved.'

The CCP's political landscape may soon experience significant upheaval.

Analysts believe that if He Weidong, Zhao Keshih, and others are apprehended, the CCP is likely to first disclose the crimes of lower-ranking officials and Zhao Keshih, subsequently asserting that He Weidong bears unshirkable leadership responsibilities. This approach mirrors the way the crimes of Zhou Yongkang and Guo Boxiong were revealed, gradually releasing information to facilitate public acceptance. Zhao Lanjian noted that Zhao Keshih was previously in charge of the military logistics system. He is well-versed in military funding flows, material distribution, and the military-industrial complex. His downfall could indicate that the corruption network within the military has been exposed, potentially leading to deeper political maneuvering!

Cai Shenkun was initially skeptical about the news of He Weidong's arrest, as there had been no follow-up reports from official media. However, a friend who had accurately predicted the incidents involving Li Shangfu and Miao Hua informed him via voice message: 'He Weidong has indeed run into trouble, and if he (referring to someone) cannot protect himself, how can he protect He Weidong?' Although Cai Shenkun did not disclose the identity of this individual, he speculated that the situation surrounding He Weidong was not unfounded. He and Zhao Lanjian both believed that if He Weidong, Zhao Keshih, and others were arrested, there were only two possibilities: either Xi has completely abandoned his former associates and is reshuffling them, or they have suffered a significant blow from anti-Xi factions within the military. Zhao Lanjian also noted that the atmosphere in Beijing is exceptionally tense, and the ongoing purge continues.

There is a belief that Xi Jinping has a strong faith in ancient prophecies. Media reports have suggested that the downfall of the Rocket Force was linked to the 46th image of the 'Tui Bei Tu', which contains a prophecy stating: 'A soldier carries a bow... a golden sword lies in ambush behind the east gate, a brave warrior enters the imperial palace through the back door...' A wise individual interpreted this for Xi Jinping, indicating that the Rocket Force resembles the soldier with the bow. Xi Jinping, choosing to believe in the prophecy's validity, intensified his determination to take down Li Yuchao and others. However, later the wise individual told Xi, 'The golden sword lies in ambush behind the east gate,' and since He Weidong's name contains the character 'East', he is the one lying in ambush behind the east gate with the sword. Consequently, Xi began to develop suspicions about He.

Amid the haze of information suppression and overseas leaks, the truth remains unclear. Nonetheless, whether it concerns the turmoil within the military or the political undercurrents, these developments are unfolding ahead of the Fourth Plenary Session and the intense competition for positions at the 21st National Congress. The new party rectification campaign is in full swing, and regardless of whether it involves rumors or gossip, it is particularly anticipated by the outside world. This situation reflects public sentiment and dissatisfaction with the opaque and oppressive governance of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It is possible that the political landscape of the CCP in 2025 will witness a new wave of upheaval. Observers will note that, whether dealing with political adversaries or allies, the top leadership of the CCP sees the elimination of political rivals as a matter of survival in the fierce struggle for personnel and power.
