[People News] On November 19, 2004, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published, systematically exposing the CCP's evil nature. After reading it, many Chinese people awakened as if from a dream and decided to withdraw from the CCP organizations. Below are some real stories that happened in Melbourne, Australia.
Stubborn Parents Read Nine Commentaries and Awaken, Then "Three Withdrawals" and Begin Cultivation
According to a report by The Epoch Times journalist Chen Feng in Melbourne, Australia, in 2014, a young student named Amy came to Australia to start her studies. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching independent media programs by journalist Stone Tao. She accidentally learned that Stone Tao was a Falun Gong practitioner. Out of curiosity, she began exploring Falun Gong and read the primary work of its founder, Master Li Hongzhi, Zhuan Falun, in one night.
From that moment, Amy slowly stepped into the cultivation of Falun Dafa and felt a peace and strength she had never experienced before. In 2022, Amy's younger brother, Daniel, also came to Melbourne for his studies. Under Amy's influence, he too began practicing Falun Gong and experienced the beauty of the principles of Falun Dafa: Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
However, when their parents in China learned that both children had started practicing Falun Gong, they were shocked and worried. At the same time, they heard about a local Falun Gong practitioner being brutally persecuted by the CCP, which further heightened their fear. They immediately dropped everything and flew to Melbourne, determined to persuade their children to give up Falun Gong.
When the family reunited, the joy of meeting again was quickly replaced by the father’s anger and reprimands, and the mother’s pleading and tears. Amy remained calm in the face of her parents’ opposition, firmly holding onto her faith and explaining how much she had benefited from Falun Gong.
Seeing the stalemate, Daniel suggested that his parents watch videos of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, hoping they could learn more about the truth.
Initially, the parents hesitated to watch Nine Commentaries, but to convince their children to give up practicing, they decided to give it a try.
As the video played, the parents gradually became immersed in deep thought. The father, an engineer, had seen many dark sides of the CCP's bureaucracy, and the mother, a Party member, had personally experienced many of its injustices. However, they had never systematically thought about the root causes behind these phenomena.
After watching Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, the parents had an epiphany: "So the CCP's rule is based on violence and deception; the people have all been fooled." Not only did they make the "Three Withdrawals," but they also developed a strong interest in Falun Gong, even beginning to read Zhuan Falun. Awakened, the parents made a major decision: they decided to stay in Australia and practice Falun Gong with their children.
Today, the family of four spends their free time studying Falun Gong teachings and practicing its exercises. The two children often tell others about the CCP's evil nature and the persecution of Falun Gong. Their lives are now peaceful and harmonious, filled with joy and unity.
Nine Commentaries Awakens a Village Party Secretary, Who Advocates for "Three Withdrawals" at a Family Feast
The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party awakened Amy’s parents, and similarly, an elderly village Party secretary living in Melbourne also found himself enlightened after watching it.
In Melbourne, there is a Chinese restaurant owned by a woman whose father, Lao Zhang, is a veteran CCP member who once served as a village Party secretary for 30 years. Lao Zhang, who had fought in wars and wielded a rifle in his youth, was stranded in Melbourne for over three years due to the pandemic.
Xiaofeng, a Falun Gong practitioner, worked at this Chinese restaurant. In her spare time, she frequently spoke to Lao Zhang about the truth of Falun Gong and encouraged him to make the "Three Withdrawals" (resigning from the CCP, the Youth League, and the Young Pioneers). However, Lao Zhang did not accept her advice; instead, he urged Xiaofeng to stay away from Falun Gong, insisting that he didn’t believe in such "overseas rumors."
Undeterred, Xiaofeng patiently continued the conversation, sincerely suggesting that he watch or listen to videos of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party when he had free time. After much persistence, Lao Zhang finally agreed to give it a try.
Some time later, Lao Zhang entered the restaurant one day, his face lit with excitement. He quietly told Xiaofeng, "I watched Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and it completely overturned my worldview. The Nine Commentaries revealed the CCP's birth, its rise, and its rogue nature. It truly woke me up! In my youth, I carried a rifle and fought wars, and later, I was deceived into working for the Party for 30 years. Shameful! Shameful!" Then, without hesitation, he declared, "Help me withdraw from the Party!"
In 2024, during the Chinese New Year, the restaurant owner and her family returned to China to visit relatives. Upon her return to Melbourne, she joyfully told Xiaofeng, "I brought you a special gift!"
The gift was a video. During their trip back, Lao Zhang had hosted a family feast at home, where he sincerely shared his thoughts after watching Nine Commentaries and urged everyone to make the "Three Withdrawals."
The video showed the following scene:
In a rural courtyard filled with relatives and villagers, Lao Zhang slowly stood up. After delivering some New Year greetings, he said, "I have something important to tell you all—'Three Withdrawals' for peace and safety. The 'Three Withdrawals' means withdrawing from Party membership, Youth League membership, and Young Pioneers membership. If you’ve joined, please withdraw."
He explained, "What I’m saying today is different from what I’ve said in the past. That’s because I repeatedly watched Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and learned what the CCP really is and the bad things it has done. Heaven is going to eliminate it! So I urge everyone here to make the 'Three Withdrawals' and also to find a way to read or watch Nine Commentaries. Once you do, you’ll know everything I’m saying is true."
Someone expressed doubt, "The CCP is bad, but does 'Three Withdrawals' really work?"
Lao Zhang replied, "Of course, it works. The CCP isn’t just one person—it’s an organization. The organization is made up of Party, Youth League, and Young Pioneers members. If you think of the CCP as a house, its members are the bricks and tiles that make up the structure. When people start removing the bricks and tiles, won’t the house collapse quickly?"
After watching the video, Xiaofeng exclaimed with joy, "This is amazing! I’ll gladly accept this gift. Please forward the video to me, thank you!"
The restaurant owner forwarded the video and handed Xiaofeng a piece of paper, saying, "There’s more. Here’s a list of nine names for the 'Three Withdrawals.' My father asked me to give this to you."
Xiaofeng was both surprised and delighted. It turned out that Lao Zhang had used his own experiences and realizations to persuade his friends and family. In the end, nine relatives decided to make the "Three Withdrawals," expressing heartfelt agreement with Lao Zhang’s words and gratitude for bringing the truth back to their hometown. Lao Zhang, in turn, expressed deep thanks to Xiaofeng.
Watching Nine Commentaries, Firmly Choosing "Three Withdrawals," Benefiting a Student's Family
Another person grateful to Xiaofeng is her roommate, Xiaojing, and her parents. In 2020, Xiaojing graduated from university, and her parents hoped she would return to China to take over the family business. While Xiaojing was hesitant, Xiaofeng encouraged her to watch the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party videos, hoping it would help her make wiser decisions about her future.
After watching Nine Commentaries twice in a row, Xiaojing felt an unprecedented clarity in her judgment. She decided to stay in Australia, not return to China, and applied for permanent residency.
She told Xiaofeng: "With such a wicked Communist Party that does nothing but evil, getting close to it won’t end well. As the saying goes, good and evil will be repaid—it’s a heavenly principle. I want to withdraw from the Youth League and Young Pioneers organizations I once joined." In June 2024, Xiaojing successfully completed her studies and soon obtained permanent residency in Australia.
Xiaojing's parents were also influenced by her. After watching Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, they too made the "Three Withdrawals." When her parents came to Australia for a vacation and met Xiaofeng, they gratefully told her that ever since watching Nine Commentaries and making the "Three Withdrawals," it felt as if gods and Buddhas were silently blessing them. Everything had been going smoothly, and their business was thriving. Nearby merchants even remarked that despite the economic downturn, their family’s business was booming—could it be that the heavens were protecting them?
Xiaojing told her parents: "This is because we watched Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, made the 'Three Withdrawals,' and received blessings."
The "Three Withdrawals" stories from Melbourne bear witness to the profound influence of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Since the publication of this editorial series, over 400 million people worldwide have declared their withdrawal from the CCP's Party, Youth League, and Young Pioneers organizations. Today, more and more Chinese people are choosing to distance themselves from the CCP. "Three Withdrawals" has become a global consensus among Chinese people resisting authoritarianism, symbolizing their pursuit and reverence for justice and conscience.
