[People News] There has been a new development in the Sydney car accident case involving Yang Lanlan. Police have filed two additional charges against her. If convicted, she could face up to seven years in prison.

In the early hours of July 27, 23-year-old Yang was driving a Rolls-Royce Cullinan worth AUD 1.5 million in Rose Bay, Sydney, when she collided head-on with a Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes driver was seriously injured and is expected to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Yang herself was unharmed. She was initially charged with “causing bodily harm through misconduct” and “refusing or failing to undergo a breathalyser test.”

Now, New South Wales police have added two more charges: dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and failing to provide personal information to police. If convicted, Yang could face a maximum sentence of seven years. According to police, she tested positive for alcohol in a roadside breath test after the crash.

Following the accident, Australian media uncovered Yang’s mysterious wealth and extravagant lifestyle, filled with luxury brands like Chanel and Hermès. However, she leaves virtually no digital footprint—effectively “a person with no traceable identity.” Public speculation about her true background has since intensified, but no confirmation has been made.

After the crash, Yang was granted bail. At the August 15 hearing, she did not appear in person but joined via Audio-Visual Link (AVL). The next hearing is scheduled for September 26. △
