[People News] Nearly two months into Donald Trump's presidency, his achievements have been notable. His policies on border protection, deportation of illegal immigrants, rejection of "woke culture," and return to tradition are all fulfilling his campaign promises. According to a CBS News/YouGov poll released on February 9, when respondents were asked whether they approved of Trump’s performance upon returning to the White House, 53% expressed support, while 47% did not. Among supporters, 31% said they "strongly support" him, 22% said they "support him to some extent," and 9% said they "somewhat disapprove."
The poll also showed that 49% of respondents believed Trump’s actions early in his term exceeded expectations, while 9% felt he had done less than expected, and 41% thought his performance aligned with expectations.
Under Trump's leadership, Americans are waking up, and more people are embracing conservative viewpoints. An analysis published on March 14 by the website Media Matters revealed that the number of viewers consuming right-leaning content far exceeds those watching left-leaning programs.
The analysis pointed out that many Americans now get their news from online shows and streaming platforms, making this media ecosystem increasingly influential. As a result, Media Matters conducted a study analyzing audience engagement, subscriptions, and viewership data for 320 online programs with either right-leaning or left-leaning ideological tendencies.
These programs are published on streaming platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, Rumble, Twitch, and Kick, as well as social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, which help expand and promote their content. These shows regularly release long-form audio and video content online. Apple Podcasts was not included in the audience data as it does not publicly disclose follower numbers on its platform.
The survey results are as follows: 1. In 2024, there are 320 active online programs that cover news and political content, comprising 191 right-leaning programs and 129 left-leaning programs. The total number of fans and subscribers for these programs is at least 584.6 million, with right-leaning programs accounting for at least 480.6 million fans and subscribers—nearly five times that of left-leaning programs.
Additionally, there is a significant asymmetry in the total number of fans across various platforms. On platforms such as YouTube, Rumble, Twitch, Kick, Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, right-leaning online programs make up approximately 82% of the estimated total fan count for online programs. In comparison, left-leaning online programs have around 10.4 million fans and subscribers across these eight platforms, which is nearly five times fewer than their right-leaning counterparts.
Among the online programs with the highest fan counts across ten platforms, nine are right-leaning, boasting a total of over 197 million fans. The only left-leaning program in the top ten is "What Now?" hosted by Trevor Noah, which has a total of 21.1 million fans and subscribers across various platforms.
2. The survey also revealed that among these ideologically inclined programs, more than one-third self-identify as non-political, despite 72% being classified as right-leaning.
Among the 320 online programs analyzed, right-leaning shows categorized as comedy (15 in total) boast 117.5 million fans and subscribers, representing 20% of the total fan base across all evaluated programs. This category includes popular titles such as 'The Joe Rogan Experience,' 'Weekend with Theo Von,' and 'The Full Send Podcast.'
3. Furthermore, right-leaning programs account for two-thirds of the YouTube views for videos related to the evaluated channels, amassing a staggering 65 billion views. In comparison, left-leaning online programs have garnered a total of 31.5 billion views.
4. Additionally, right-leaning programs leverage Rumble to broaden their audience reach, resulting in millions of subscribers and billions of views.
The findings from the 'American Media Affairs' website suggest that Americans may be moving towards a return to common sense within American society, as well as a revival of traditional cultural and institutional frameworks in the United States. △
