[People News] On December 26, 2024 (Mao Zedong’s birthday), the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) announced the release of the DeepSeek-V1 model. Shortly after, on January 20, 2025 (the date of Trump’s inauguration), they introduced the DeepSeekR1 model. The fact that these launches were timed to coincide with two highly symbolic dates suggests that the CCP sees the "distillation" success of DeepSeek as proof that its authoritarian system is just as capable as, if not superior to, American democracy. Following the announcement, CCP propaganda outlets, nationalist influencers, and die-hard Party loyalists erupted in celebration. On January 28, 2025, CCTV News lauded DeepSeek as an "unstoppable force dominating the charts, shaking up Wall Street, and taking the AI world by storm—a true dark horse from the East, the 'Pinduoduo of AI.'" A well-known nationalist influencer, Zheng Guocheng, also uploaded a video claiming, "China’s homegrown marvel DeepSeek has arrived, instantly outshining Trump’s 'Stargate.' The West’s attempt to block China’s chip development has completely failed. The future of technology belongs to China."

The CCP hopes to use DeepSeek to boost morale, revive its faltering economy, justify its rule, and stabilize its increasingly precarious dictatorship. But can it truly achieve these goals? The author believes it is absolutely impossible, as DeepSeek cannot resolve the three fundamental crises that will inevitably lead to the CCP’s downfal

1. The Political System Obstructs Economic Development, Leading to a Spiraling Economic Decline

It is well known that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is a party founded on Marxist ideology, operating under a one-party dictatorship. What is the essence of Marxism? Its lengthy and convoluted theories can be condensed into two words: "enjoyment." On the surface, Marxism promises a utopian society where all believers can enjoy a paradise on Earth—communism. In reality, however, CCP officials exploit their privileges to break laws and ethical norms for their own benefit (party rule, party ownership, and party enjoyment), while the general public is stripped of all rights and subjected to suffering. The CCP used this utopian vision to overthrow the Nationalist government, abolish its constitution, and establish a dictatorship along with a system of public ownership. They claimed that this system would "liberate productive forces," build socialism "faster, better, and more economically," and ultimately create an abundance of material wealth, leading to a paradise of equal distribution based on need.

However, after nearly three decades of experimentation, the results have been disastrous. Tens of millions perished in famines, and the national economy neared collapse. In response, the CCP backtracked and introduced a half-hearted "reform and opening-up" policy, aimed primarily at preserving the party’s survival. This relied on material incentives to stimulate productivity and encouraged corruption to motivate officials to drive GDP growth. However, without democratic oversight or legal and moral constraints, the result was rampant official profiteering, widespread corruption, counterfeit products, fraudulent business practices, and a culture of debauchery among the elites. Prominent CCP figures such as Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, Zhou Yongkang, and Bo Xilai exemplify this corruption, with stolen assets reaching astronomical figures. The Deng family reportedly amassed enough wealth to buy an entire street in New York, while the Jiang family allegedly embezzled over a trillion yuan. Officials maintained concubines in numbers rivaling ancient emperors, and numerous women fell victim to their abuses, including media personalities and ordinary citizens. The business world was no different, with figures like Lai Changxing (the mastermind behind the Yuanhua smuggling scandal) and Evergrande’s Xu Jiayin epitomizing crony capitalism. Even famous singers like Dong Wenhua and Yang Yuying were reportedly entangled in these corrupt networks. This moral decay has seeped into the younger generation. In one case, a Beijing elementary schoolgirl named Zhu Bajie stated in an interview that she admired the character Pigsy from Journey to the West because "he likes to eat and enjoys women." Another young girl, when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, shockingly replied, "a corrupt official" because "they have lots of money." This pervasive materialism has rendered traditional moral teachings ineffective, pushing the CCP into an existential dilemma: if they do not crack down on corruption, the country will collapse; if they do, the party itself will not survive.

To truly address these problems, China must undertake political reform and dismantle the root cause of corruption—the one-party dictatorship. However, the CCP, desperate to maintain its grip on power, refuses to consider political change. It would rather suppress reformists and continue to govern through corruption, famously stating that it would rather sacrifice 200,000 lives than lose control. Instead of reforming, the CCP has chosen to double down on its authoritarian rule. President Xi Jinping, whose ideology is deeply rooted in Maoist doctrine, is leading a return to Cultural Revolution-style policies.

On one hand, the CCP actively suppresses any calls for reform and openly opposes universal values. State media outlets such as People’s Daily and Red Flag Manuscripts have published articles attacking concepts like constitutional democracy, universal values, and civil society. Policies such as the "Seven No’s" (七不讲) and the "Five No’s" (五不搞) explicitly reject democratic governance, freedom of thought, and political pluralism. In 2015, People’s Daily published an editorial titled Unmasking the West’s ‘Universal Values’, and in 2017, Red Flag Manuscripts ran an article titled We Must Never Allow Western ‘Universal Values’ to Undermine Socialist Core Values. Additionally, the CCP has enacted strict anti-espionage laws to tighten its grip on society.

On the other hand, the CCP continues to propagate lies and unrealistic promises. It insists that the party’s socialist theory, system, and path are correct and that unwavering faith in the CCP will lead to surpassing the United States economically, bringing prosperity to all. But instead of pursuing genuine economic reform, the party is reverting to a state-controlled economy, suppressing private enterprises in favor of state-owned ones. The result has been disastrous: The real estate market has collapsed, with major developers defaulting. Factories have shut down, businesses are struggling, and consumer spending has plummeted. The stock market remains stagnant, foreign capital is fleeing, and unemployment is surging. The "Belt and Road Initiative," originally intended to expand China’s economic influence, has backfired, leading to global backlash and economic sanctions.

When the country lacks direction, elites feel insecure, the lower classes have no hope, morale is deteriorating, spirits are low, and the future looks bleak, a company called DeepSeek emerged from the private sector (or perhaps was secretly funded by the state). The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) saw this as a lifeline, exaggerated its significance, and launched it on two special occasions in an attempt to save itself. However, the fundamental cause of economic decline and stagnation is political—namely, the authoritarian system and public ownership. Can an AI model solve such deep-rooted issues? Absolutely not.

In democratic countries like the United States, AI can be utilized to enhance government efficiency, prevent corruption, and ensure transparent governance. For instance, AI tools could be used to audit financial records in departments like the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Department of Defense, and the Treasury, eliminating waste and improving economic performance. Would the CCP ever use AI for such purposes? Absolutely not. Instead of tackling corruption, the party would use AI to suppress dissent and strengthen its control. This highlights a fundamental truth: technology and talent alone cannot drive economic development. Without political reform and a moral foundation, even the most advanced technology will be weaponized against the people rather than used to solve the country's economic problems.

According to Dajiyuan on February 20, 2024, China’s actual foreign direct investment (FDI) in January 2025 amounted to 97.59 billion yuan, a 13.4% year-over-year decline. This figure is also lower than 102.2 billion in January 2022 and 127.6 billion in January 2023, marking the weakest start in four years. Additionally, China’s total FDI for 2024 was 826 billion yuan, down 27.1% from the previous year—the lowest level since 2016.

On January 27, 2025, Taiwan News reported that Vanke, one of China’s largest and long-insolvent real estate firms, was on the verge of complete government takeover just before the Lunar New Year.

These phenomena indicate that DeepSeek has not improved the economy. Progress in specific areas of science and technology cannot resolve the structural contradictions that have led to economic decline.

2. The Problem of Nationwide Disillusionment, Despair, and Resistance Against the CCP

To preserve its authoritarian rule and absolute power, Xi Jinping and the CCP oligarchs have resorted to reckless, regressive policies, stubbornly clinging to one-party dominance and personal dictatorship. Their oppressive actions—including eliminating political opponents, suppressing private entrepreneurs, persecuting religious believers, imprisoning human rights lawyers, silencing outspoken journalists, and trampling on the rule of law and human rights—have provoked widespread resentment, from ordinary citizens to upright officials within the party, government, and military. For instance, the CCP forcibly removed former leader Hu Jintao from the 20th National Congress, the sudden and unexplained "heart attack" death of former Premier Li Keqiang raised suspicions, and Gu Wanming, who called for an investigation into Li's death, was sentenced and stripped of his pension. Human rights lawyers such as Gao Zhisheng, Peng Lifa, Fang Yirong, and Li Yixue have disappeared. Courageous entrepreneurs like Sun Dawu and Ren Zhiqiang have been given harsh sentences. The CCP continues its brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and all religious groups that refuse to pledge loyalty to the party. Meanwhile, corrupt officials who oppress and exploit civilians are openly protected by the regime.

The CCP faces widespread discontent and resistance from the people across five major areas: Political Oppression: The CCP suppresses dissent, restricts freedom of speech and the press, leaving many citizens feeling suffocated and resentful. Economic Inequality: Despite China’s rapid economic growth, urban-rural disparities, regional development imbalances, and a widening wealth gap have left many feeling marginalized. Corruption: Bureaucratic corruption remains rampant, fueling public anger over government injustice. Human Rights Violations: The government’s restrictions on religious freedom, freedom of speech, and assembly rights have led to widespread dissatisfaction. Social Issues: Problems such as inadequate public services in education and healthcare, along with environmental pollution, have sparked protests and unrest.

These interconnected grievances have fueled complex social conflicts, leading various groups to resist the CCP under different circumstances. Watching the CCP repeatedly trample on justice, law, and morality, the people have grown disillusioned—some choosing passive resistance by disengaging from the system, others bravely speaking out, some taking direct action against corrupt officials, and still others forming underground political groups in preparation for revolution. On February 23, in Changle, Fujian, unarmed villagers from Houfu Township fearlessly defeated armed paramilitary police who were interfering with their religious freedom. This event ignited online calls for "revolution, overthrowing the dictatorship, and establishing a democratic republic." Meanwhile, truck drivers announced a nationwide strike on March 1 to protest against economic exploitation. In light of similar incidents, such as the defiant public resistance against police brutality in the Dang Changxin case in Shaanxi, the CCP leadership is gripped with fear. In a desperate attempt to maintain control, the State Council issued the "National Emergency Response Plan for Sudden Incidents" on February 25 to prepare for larger-scale anti-regime uprisings across the country. The CCP now finds itself sitting atop a volcano on the verge of eruption. Attempting to pacify public outrage and avert its downfall with an AI model built through "distillation" is nothing short of delusional. Worse still, people have already discovered that DeepSeek is not only designed to conceal the CCP’s crimes but also has serious vulnerabilities—spying on users and leaking their data to telecom companies. Instead of inspiring public confidence, DeepSeek has further exposed the CCP’s malicious intent, strengthening people’s resolve to resist and overthrow the regime.

3. The CCP’s Ideological Conflict with Western Democracies and Its Growing Isolation

The CCP is a "political monster" armed with three false doctrines—materialism, atheism, and evolutionism. It disregards morality, denies the divine, and is incapable of doing good. However, when it comes to deception, manipulation, and scheming against good people, just governments, and the civilized world, the CCP is truly a master. It deceived the Kuomintang (KMT) into retreating to Taiwan and seized power through lies and subversion. It continues to manipulate the current KMT to act as its internal agent for "national reunification." The CCP also tricked Western democracies into allowing it to join international organizations like the United Nations and the World Trade Organization (WTO)—reaping economic benefits while disregarding rules and responsibilities. Now that it has grown stronger, the CCP has abandoned its pretense and openly declared "the rise of the East and the decline of the West" and "standing on equal footing with the West." It pushes for a "Community with a Shared Future for Mankind"—a euphemism for exporting authoritarian rule globally. Its ambition to replace democratic governance with totalitarian rule is laid bare in its slogan: "Plant the red flag across the world."

The CCP's sinister agenda is evident in multiple international affairs: Aggression Against Taiwan: The CCP seeks to forcibly annex Taiwan through military threats and economic coercion. Backing Russia’s War in Ukraine: The CCP covertly supports Russia by providing financial and material aid. Fanning the Flames of the Israel-Hamas Conflict: The CCP exploits Middle Eastern tensions to undermine the West. Fentanyl Smuggling to the U.S.: The CCP profits from drug trafficking while fueling addiction and societal collapse in the U.S. Biowarfare Allegations: The CCP is suspected of unleashing COVID-19 on the world, causing massive casualties and economic turmoil. The CCP’s relentless assault on universal values, global stability, and human dignity has alarmed the international community. Countries worldwide are exposing and condemning its actions, isolating and containing it. In this context, Trump's foreign policy appears to center on encircling and dismantling the CCP. His administration aims to suffocate the regime economically and diplomatically until its ultimate demise. As a result, China faces an unprecedented economic and diplomatic crisis, resembling a trapped beast surrounded on all sides. Will an AI model like DeepSeek, hastily developed through imitation, persuade the Western world to lift its blockade and spare the CCP from destruction? The answer is clearly no.

On February 13, Voice of America reported that U.S. Vice President Vance delivered a speech at the AI Conference held at the Grand Palais in Paris on Tuesday (February 11). Without explicitly naming China, he sent a clear message to Europe's AI industry: cooperation with China is dangerous, and Europe can only rely on the American approach.

Vance stated that the U.S. is set to lead AI development and that the American approach will be the "gold standard" in this field. He emphasized at the outset: "This administration will ensure that American AI technology continues to be the global gold standard. For other countries, and of course, for companies expanding their AI applications, we are the preferred partner."

Vance then shifted his focus, directly criticizing China. He said: "Hostile foreign adversaries are weaponizing AI software to rewrite history, surveil users, and censor speech." He accused "some authoritarian regimes of stealing and exploiting AI to enhance their military, intelligence, and surveillance capabilities, obtain foreign data, and produce propaganda to undermine the national security of other countries."

He warned attendees: "I must also remind our international friends here today that partnering with such regimes will never bring long-term benefits."

Vance explicitly stated that the Trump administration "will put a complete stop to such efforts—entirely. We will protect American AI and chip technology from theft and misuse, and we will work with our allies and partners to strengthen and expand these protections, cutting off adversaries from acquiring AI capabilities that threaten all of our people."

Vance's remarks made it clear to the world that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has stolen AI technology, using it to maintain its dictatorship, harm the Chinese people, and endanger democratic nations. He urged everyone not to cooperate with the CCP, emphasizing that the U.S. is determined to cut off China's access to stolen technology. Following the release of DeepSeek, Panama withdrew from the Belt and Road Initiative, Shigeru Ishiba distanced himself from China and met with Trump, and a U.S. survey vessel moved slowly through the Taiwan Strait for three days, clearly conducting measurements in preparation for countering a potential Chinese invasion of Taiwan. The international community has not reduced its hostility, precautions, or containment of the CCP just because it launched what it claims to be an advanced AI model. DeepSeek has done nothing to resolve China’s diplomatic predicament.

In a state of internal and external crisis, on the brink of collapse, and in constant fear of its downfall, the CCP naively hopes to use exaggerated propaganda surrounding DeepSeek to solve its problems and avoid its demise. However, this strategy is bound to backfire. When people test and compare AI models and realize that the CCP’s AI technology was stolen and is being used to deceive, control, and suppress the people to strengthen its corrupt and brutal dictatorship—while, in contrast, the U.S. government employs top AI talent, led by Elon Musk, to enhance government efficiency and combat corruption—then the truth becomes even clearer. Scientific and technological advancements in democratic constitutional nations serve the people and drive civilization forward, whereas in authoritarian regimes, such advancements become tools or weapons for oppression, resistance to political progress, and suppression of justice. This realization will only strengthen people's resolve and courage to overthrow tyranny and establish constitutional governance. Thus, not only will DeepSeek fail to save the CCP from its inevitable demise, but it may even accelerate its downfall.
