The leak details the official document: The Chinese embassy in Micronesia requested that the country support its stance on Taiwan. Micronesia signed the joint letter on April 8 and submitted it to WHO Secretary-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on May 5, invoking the "One China principle" to obstruct Taiwan's participation. Once the arrangement was finalized, on June 10, China provided 1 million RMB specifically for Micronesia to purchase a ceremonial vehicle of a Chinese brand, and Micronesia accepted the donation on June 23.
This diplomat complained that the Chinese government’s core support base is nearly running out of momentum, yet it is still being forced to keep pouring resources into these zero-return political ventures. It would be better to save the money and use it to plug holes in its own economy.
