A cross-section of a stone reveals the six large characters: The Chinese Communist Party is doomed. (Video screenshot)
[People News] According to a report from the People's Daily, the leader of the Chinese Communist Party began a trip to Vietnam, Malaysia, and Cambodia from the 14th to the 18th of this month, spending three days in Malaysia, the current rotating chair of ASEAN, from the 15th to the 17th. Originally, ASEAN was a regional organisation opposing communism, but now the world's largest communist party leader is being welcomed there. This visit is a response to the trade war initiated by the United States against the CCP, as the party seeks to win over these southern nations through benefits and cooperation.
A report by Reuters on the 13th indicated that prior to the leader's trip, the CCP mandated that government officials enter a 'wartime state', forbidding vacations and requiring their phones to remain on 24/7. As part of this 'wartime state', officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce were instructed to cancel their holidays, and departments handling U.S. affairs bolstered their staffing. Sources noted that the CCP urged officials to closely monitor public reactions to tariffs and to enhance propaganda efforts to manage public anxiety.
However, before Xi Jinping even set foot in Malaysia, the CCP faced its worst fear. On the 15th, reports surfaced online that an anti-communist banner was displayed on an overpass in Chengdu, Sichuan, boldly declaring, 'The people do not need a party with unchecked power.'
A widely circulated photo overseas shows three large banners with white backgrounds and red text hanging from an elevated bridge at night. Illuminated by streetlights, the text on the banners is clearly legible. The messages read: 'Without political system reform, there is no national rejuvenation,' 'The people do not need a party that wields unchecked power,' and 'China does not need anyone to point the way; democracy is the way.'
Reports indicate that the incident took place outside the Chadianzi Passenger Station in Chengdu, where the individual who hung the banners remarked, 'I have been preparing this slogan for a year and hope to help spread it.'
As of now, there have been no updates, and it remains unclear whether the banners were removed by authorities enforcing stability, nor is there any information regarding the safety of the person who displayed them. Online commentators have expressed: 'The Chinese people have awakened.' 'In the oppressive environment of the Communist Party's brutal rule, promoting social progress and the development of civilisation cannot be captured by a mere narrative of blood and tears.' 'Bridge guardians are expanding recruitment, creating more job opportunities.' 'This is the 2.0 version of the Beijing Sitong Bridge incident, illustrating that the Chinese Communist Party's desire for freedom among the Chinese people is unquenchable.'
The Beijing Sitong Bridge incident refers to the Chinese Communist Party's zero-COVID lockdown policies during the pandemic from 2020 to 2022, which resulted in starvation, illness, and fires without rescue, leading to protests. On October 13, 2022, martyr Peng Zaizhou hung a banner on the Sitong Bridge in Zhongguancun, Beijing, with one side stating, 'We want food, not nucleic acid tests! We want freedom, not lockdowns! We want dignity, not lies! We want reform, not the Cultural Revolution! We want ballots, not leaders! We want to be citizens, not slaves!' The other side read, 'Strike classes, strike work, remove the dictatorial traitor Xi Jinping.'
In online promotional materials, Peng Zaizhou called on soldiers and police nationwide to rise up: 'Key point: It is crucial for soldiers, police, armed police, and government officials to receive the message that inciting their participation in response to citizen protests is a highly effective strategy. Ultimately, we hope to see a national defence general like Cai Zhaozhong, who can completely remove the dictator from power.'
Despite the Chinese Communist Party's total censorship of information, news related to the Peng Zaizhou incident has rapidly spread both domestically and internationally, now historically known as the 'Beijing Sitong Bridge Incident.'
Like many other courageous individuals, Peng Zaizhou has been missing since his arrest. Currently, individuals such as Qiao Xinxin, who called for the dismantling of the Great Firewall, have been captured in Laos, while Yaya, a computer engineer from Hangzhou advocating for a democratic China, is in detention. The human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng, recognised as a representative of China's conscience and backbone, has also disappeared... There are far too many righteous individuals in China whose fates remain unknown.
Nevertheless, the conscience and sense of justice among the Chinese people are the sparks that will determine whether survival can continue in the future. These sparks cannot be extinguished; if they are, the future will also be lost.
Following the Sitong Bridge incident, on February 21, 2023, Chai Song (柴松), who had fled to the United States, activated projections on the exterior wall of the Wanda Plaza in Jinan City that read 'Down with Xi Jinping' and 'Down with the Communist Party' using a remote sensor. On June 3, 2023, outside the 'Bird's Nest' National Stadium in Beijing, a woman climbed a tower, waved the American flag, and scattered flyers of the Declaration of Independence, earning her the titles of heroine and the second Peng Zaizhou (彭載舟). On September 27, 2023, netizens captured the phrase 'End the Empire' displayed in large letters on a bridge on Zhongshan Road in Shijiazhuang. On July 30, 2024, someone hung Sitong Bridge slogans on a bridge in Xinhua County, Loudi, Hunan, and loudly broadcasted a message declaring 'We want freedom, we want democracy, we want votes! Strike, boycott, and remove the dictatorial traitor Xi Jinping.' The individual who reported the protest banner was a university student named Fang Yirong (方藝融).
Countless unnamed heroes in China are using their wisdom to awaken the numb souls of the Chinese people, encouraging them to abandon the CCP for a brighter future. The anti-communist banners on the Chengdu overpass are bound to cause local party officials to lose sleep; they fear for their positions when the party leader returns, and the leader, who was in Malaysia that day, will undoubtedly feel both anger and fear upon hearing this news. They are angry that those aimless individuals, lacking ideals and faith, create trouble as soon as I step out; they fear whether the disloyal and dishonest in Beijing will seize the opportunity to create chaos.
I can only hope that heaven will show mercy to China and to the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation who are struggling on the brink of life and death, allowing them to glimpse a future filled with happiness and freedom.
