[People News] After the CCP flaunted its “muscles” during the September 3rd military parade, brainwashed “little pink” nationalists went into a frenzy, shouting nonsense as if on stimulants. One Chinese internet celebrity, Zhang Xuefeng, even boasted that he would donate 50 million RMB if China launched an attack on Taiwan. His warmongering remarks went unpunished by the authorities, while articles criticising him for “inciting war” were instead deleted after being attacked by online nationalists.

According to Newtalk News, on the day of the parade, Zhang Xuefeng gathered hundreds of employees from his education company to watch the live broadcast. He declared that China’s weapons were not for show, but for national unification. He then passionately proclaimed: “When our motherland unifies… on the day the gunfire starts, I’ll damn well donate at least 50 million. My company will always have this money—on that day, I’ll transfer 50 million right away, and in total I’ll donate at least 100 million, damn it.”

The video of Zhang’s vow to fund an invasion went viral in China, but many netizens blasted him: “Shouting for war.” “Milking patriotism for traffic.” “A bootlicker of the times.” “If war really breaks out, you’ll be the first to run.” “You won’t donate for disaster relief, but will donate to fuel war? What’s your motive?” Well-known Chinese writer Li Chengpeng also criticised him publicly: “Floods, you don’t donate. Earthquakes, you don’t donate. Poverty, you don’t donate. But when it’s about fighting your own compatriots, suddenly you’re all fired up to give 50 million. Overacting much?”

Later, during a livestream, Zhang admitted that government officials had already “reminded him to be careful with his words,” yet he still insisted: “I said it, I’ll do it,” showing no sign of restraint. Henan provincial state media outlet Elephant News published a commentary titled “Zhang Xuefeng, Please Answer: Should Warmongering Get a Zero Score?” It criticised Zhang as a “cram school celebrity who climbed the pyramid of wealth on Chinese parents’ hard-earned money” and accused him of staging a patriotic performance to chase online traffic while cheerleading for war.

The article questioned Zhang Xuefeng: “After so many years in postgraduate exam tutoring, do you not know that ‘peaceful reunification and one country, two systems’ is the fundamental policy for resolving the Taiwan issue?” “Unless absolutely necessary, who would want to fight their own compatriots?” “Do you think Taiwan compatriots feel good hearing this?” It emphasised that Zhang recklessly tied “unification” to “gunfire,” twisting reunification into a military threat against fellow citizens, digging a pit for the consensus on peace.

The commentary stated that Zhang’s preemptive “pledge of donations” for a war that has not yet happened—and which all Chinese strive to avoid—was cruel toward compatriots and a trampling on the bottom line of civilisation. It noted that Zhang had previously declared that “China’s largest island is Japan,” and claimed “Japan is an inseparable part of Chinese territory.” But, it added, since World War II, China has “never actively provoked a war, never seized an inch of foreign land.” Zhang’s words, it argued, were not only ignorant but also a serious smear on China’s image.

The article concluded with a sharp rebuke: “Patriotism is responsibility, is action. It is not a tool for monetising online traffic. Stop corrupting people’s minds, Zhang Xuefeng.” However, after Elephant News published this commentary, its comment section was quickly flooded by ultra-nationalist “little pinks,” who insisted that “donating money to fight Taiwan separatists is the true consensus of the Chinese people,” and attacked Elephant News as a “traitor media.” The piece has since been scrubbed from the Elephant News website.

Meanwhile, overseas netizens also condemned Zhang’s extreme rhetoric. They wrote: “Any organisation or individual that advocates war under any circumstances is evil!” “Donating money is meaningless. If you’re sincere, go fight on the frontlines yourself. If you don’t dare, send your kid—that’s what it means to have guts!” “The CCP’s glossy façade has already sunk into their bones. What they proudly show off, we see as utterly inhumane.” “This warmongering fascist should be strictly investigated by foreign embassies and consulates, denied visas, and subjected to de facto travel sanctions. He himself knows he’s disgraceful—he only panders for traffic inside the firewall. Once his words leak outside, he panics, fearing backlash. His thinking is deeply conflicted.” △
