WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The United States will deport some U.S. permanent residents after determining that they supported and collaborated with Haitian gang leaders connected to a designated Haitian foreign terrorist organization, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Monday.
"The United States will not allow individuals to enjoy the benefits of legal status in our country while they are facilitating the actions of violent organizations or supporting criminal terrorist organizations," Rubio said in a statement.
The individuals, who were not named, are alleged to have supported and collaborated with Haitian gang leaders connected to Viv Ansanm, according to the statement.
