[People News Report] This past July, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) gathered 14 Palestinian factions, including Hamas, to Beijing for "direct command and deployment." On July 23, representatives from these factions, including both Hamas and its rival Fatah, signed the "Beijing Declaration" and took a group photo together.
According to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the most important outcome of the talks was the achievement of a "grand reconciliation" and "great unity" among the 14 factions. The highlight was the agreement to establish an interim government focused on post-war reconstruction in Gaza.
However, the real purpose of the "Beijing Declaration" was for the CCP to inject new life into Hamas, which was struggling under Israeli attacks. The CCP brought other factions, which have deep conflicts with Hamas, to Beijing to sign an agreement under the guise of reconciliation and unity. The hope was that, out of respect for Beijing's significant financial support, these factions would set aside their differences, unite, and support Hamas in its fight against Israel.
But these factions, each as cunning as a fox, see Hamas as a greater threat than Israel. Out of obligation to the CCP's financial backing, they put on a show of smiles, signed the agreement, collected their money, and left. Once back home, they continued to stand by and watch as Israel pummeled Hamas.
Within just three months, most of the people in the photo were gone. A netizen recently commented: "Looking back at this photo today, it's hilarious—only one person is left."
In the photo where Wang Yi stands coolly at the center, nine Hamas members, who were marked with red Xs, were all assassinated by Israel after this meeting.

Some joked that the CCP didn't inject Hamas with a boost of energy but rather an overdose of fentanyl.
Others quipped that the real highlight of the "Beijing Declaration" was not the "agreement to establish a post-war interim government" but that it allowed the Hamas leadership to "depart first."
