A Disciplinary Committee Official in Hunan Province Falls to His Death

October 21, 2024 - Following the recent death of Hunan Provincial Finance Department Director Liu Wenjie, another disciplinary committee official in the province has fallen to his death. This marks the second case of an official falling to their death in Hunan Province within a month.

According to a report by Upstream News on October 20, Li Shengping, the Director of the Ningyuan County Inspection Office, fell to his death. Local sources revealed that Li Shengping, 49, fell from a building at his workplace on October 18, and the cause remains unknown.

The report states that Li Shengping's body is currently at the Ningyuan County Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held on the afternoon of October 20.

One of Li Shengping’s colleagues revealed that he suffered from depression and had been seeking treatment at hospitals multiple times since 2022.

The news of this disciplinary committee official's death has sparked widespread discussion online.

A netizen, "Ouyang Qiuyue," commented: "Special attention should be paid to disciplinary committee officials committing suicide due to depression. Was it due to work or personal matters? If it was work-related, it might involve a lot of hidden injustice and darkness. Concerns should be addressed; otherwise, the public will harbor doubts."

Another user, "7377850156," revealed: "The Ningyuan County Court has rampant unjust rulings, and the administration is corrupt, but no one is willing to deal with it."

In recent years, there have been multiple cases of officials falling to their deaths within the Chinese Communist Party's ranks.

The most recent case occurred on September 19, when Liu Wenjie, the Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Finance, fell to her death. Two other men also fell to their deaths in the same incident, causing widespread shock.

Jiang Wangzheng, a former employee in China's banking industry who now resides in Australia, disclosed to the Epoch Times that Liu Wenjie's fall was due to economic disputes involving the two other deceased individuals.
